JAKARTA, wartametropolitan.com – Persaingan para bintang musik dunia menuju panggung MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) 2026 mulai terlihat. Daftar nominasi ajang penghargaan musik tersebut telah diumumkan menjelang malam penganugerahan yang dijadwalkan berlangsung pada 27 September 2026.
Madonna menjadi nama yang paling mencuri perhatian dalam daftar nominasi tahun ini. Penyanyi tersebut mengantongi 11 nominasi, seiring dengan kembalinya kiprahnya di dunia musik.
Posisi berikutnya ditempati Taylor Swift yang memperoleh sembilan nominasi. Dua nama besar tersebut menjadi sorotan utama dalam persaingan VMAs 2026 bersama sejumlah musisi populer lainnya.
Salah satu kategori utama, Video of the Year, mempertemukan Ariana Grande melalui hate that i made you love me, Bruno Mars dengan I Just Might, GENER8ION bersama Yung Lean lewat STORM, Madonna melalui Confessions II – The Film, Sabrina Carpenter dengan Tears, serta Taylor Swift lewat The Fate of Ophelia.
Sementara itu, kategori Artist of the Year diisi Ariana Grande, Bruno Mars, Madonna, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, dan Taylor Swift. Persaingan tersebut mempertemukan sejumlah nama besar yang memiliki pengaruh kuat di industri musik sepanjang periode penilaian.

BTS juga memperoleh nominasi di kategori Song of the Year melalui Swim. Lagu tersebut bersaing dengan karya Ella Langley, HUNTR/X, Madonna dan Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, PinkPantheress bersama Zara Larsson, serta RAYE.
